Many years ago, I was fortunate enough to tour the Sam Maloof home and workshop.  As many of you have also done, I had marveled at the pure genius of the man.  During one such visit, a small item caught my eye.  It was unusual enough to appeal to my woodworking and design interest, but not enough to steal the attention away from one of Sam’s spectacular chairs.
The Shoe Bench is just a perfect little project.  I’ve come up with an instructional booklet as well as full-sized plans so that you may also enjoy this great piece.  I find myself using it after a long day in the workshop as a place to sit and remove my work boots, and it even has two drawers that are perfect for storing keys and eyeglasses (I always forget where I left them).
I’m sure you will thoroughly enjoy this fun and unusual woodworking project.
